Zbrush ( Jay-Z sculpt)

What's up everybody!  As of recently I been really getting into Zbrush.  It's something that I wanted to learn  for a long time since it is for one, a standard in the entertainment industry. It also  allows me to be as creative as I want to be without  all the technical nonsense that comes with 3D modeling. Since I have a background in  traditional art, getting into Zbrush  was not as hard as I expected it to be.

It was a challenge to learn  the interface at first and certain tricks, but as I continue to practice the easier it has become.  This is the first model I have done in Zbrush and still working on now.  It  started out as a random character and eventually it became to look a lot like the rapper Jay-Z (laughs).

That was not meant to happen, but I did not want to delete either so I kept it. I came to the decision of making a caricature version of Jay-Z be one of my first models. Depending how well this turns out I might do more caricature work. My goal this year is to become really good in Zbrush and be recognized as one of the new up and coming Zbrush artist as well.

I really enjoy the software and can't wait to show more on what I have plan  to do in it. Have a great weekend and stay being creative!

Low Poly Exercises #3 ( Sky Island Exercise)

What's going on folks!  This is my latest  low poly exercise assignment I have done. This is a sky island. This exercise was a joy to do as it gave me ideas on what I implement  on project ideas.

I really liked how this one turn out. This one I did not animate as it is just a still image. The next piece I will be doing though will be a animated low poly character.

This gives the chance to do some character animation even if the model is simple. It will all pay off in the long run as I am learning from each and every one of these exercises. Eventually I will move on from these and really get into cool stuff  in the near future so stay tune for that.

As always leave comments or questions! Would like to know what others think  on the pieces I have shown this far. Have a great weekend and stay being creative!

Low Poly Exercise #2 (Boat Animation)

Hey folks! This is the second exercise that I did. This one was similar to lighthouse one except the boat is animated  and interacts with the water, which was very valuable to learn to do.  As like with the lighthouse exercise, I will upload the full animated version of the boat animation.

The pics at the bottom are the screenshots of the process. Similar to the lighthouse exercise, the beginning stage was modeling out the scene. The final stage was doing the lighting, texturing, and animating.  The most challenging thing was making the boat  interact with the water, but it was a great payoff.  With that said, please leave comments or ask questions. Do both!  Have a great weekend and stay being creative!

Low Poly Exercise #1 (Lighthouse Exercise)

Hello guys! As I said I would, this is the first post of the low poly exercise I have done. These are the screenshots of it while I was working on it the beginning stages such as modeling, to the final stages that has texturing, lighting, and animating.

This was very simple and fun to do as I learned some neat tricks that can go with other projects.  The cool thing about low poly is that  this gives me the time to experiment with other things such as lighting or dynamics etc to get better at my craft. As always leave a comment or ask questions. Have a great weekend.

Low Poly Exercises

Hey all! It's been a minute  since I posted anything and I apologize for that and  will  do better.  With that being said, I  am still doing 3D work and recently I have been doing weekly projects for myself.
The projects are  Low Poly exercises.  I been  very interested in doing low poly works for a long time. It's really fun, creative, and experimental.

I been doing exercises for the past 3 weeks or so  and will be posting them.  Some are stills and others are fully animated. My goal is after doing a few of these exercises is to make my own personal low poly projects  and create stories out of them. Should be great fun! With that said,  have a great day, and be creative!
